Repairing Shift linkage.
Even with the big shot installed, the shifting still seemed funny in 2nd and 4th…like as if there was still some slop. So I decided to tackle it with the GW shift kit. Replaced all bushings, plastic parts and shift ball and cup ting:
However upon further inspection, this area was badly worn….the previous plastic coupler seemed okay as if recently replaced. But the pins and the Ujoint itself rather was badly worn.
Notice the worn grove on the pin. Not pictured are the slop in the holes on the joint. I don’t have the time and money to replace the entire rear shift bar yet. So i’ll have to figure something else out for now.
That should do it! With some additional diy hole shims (note metal SS sheetmetal around SS bolt). The coupler is now snug enough. Perhaps i’ll replace with an RS Labs kit in the future…
